Fireworks
花火
Daisen City is widely known as the home of the National Fireworks Competition, Omagari Hanabi.
But that is only part of the story. Fireworks are launched every month across the city, including the Naraoka Sanaburi Sake Fireworks and the Kamioka Nangai Fireworks Festival, keeping fireworks culture alive through all four seasons.
Daisen, City of Fireworks
花火のまち大仙
Daisen is known as the "City of Fireworks." In addition to the nationally famous Omagari Fireworks Festival, a variety of fireworks events are held throughout the seasons.
Beyond summer fireworks, visitors can enjoy different seasonal displays such as the Kamioka Nangai Fireworks Festival in autumn and the Uchikotomo Amarume Sakura Fireworks Viewing in spring.
Fireworks launched beneath an unobstructed wide sky and amid rich natural scenery illuminate Daisen's nights together with the history and feelings of the local community.

Omagari Hanabi
大曲の花火
Omagari Hanabi, the National Fireworks Competition, is one of Japan's most prestigious fireworks events, held every year on the last Saturday of August along the Omono River in the Omagari area of Daisen City. Selected pyrotechnicians from across Japan launch fireworks they have crafted themselves, competing in technique and expression for the Prime Minister's Award. Since its beginnings in 1910, fireworks events with distinct meanings and atmospheres are now held in spring, summer, and autumn.
